How it all started...
In 1986 the PNW Association conducted a demographic study for a new church project in Puyallup. By going door-to-door in the community, praying, and beginning small group bible studies - the church was formed and Pastor Gordon Bauslaugh was called to become its planter and pastor.
Originally called the Puyallup Church Project, CCBC had it's first meetings in homes and began to grow! As they outgrew homes the first public services at CCBC were held at "Children's Garden Day Care" in 1987. They would continue to meet in various places including a Taco Time and Brouillet elementary school. For a brief time CCBC had no building and met outdoors earning them the title "Gypsy Baptists" in the local newspaper.

Expanding the vision...
On October 11, 1992 the groundbreaking service was held to begin construction on the building we currently worship and gather in today!
July 30, 1995 was the First Sunday gathering to worship in the new building! In the time between groundbreaking and moving in to our building CCBC continued to meet regularly and define the mission, vision and purpose. Our Elder board, a church constitution, and a growing ministry staff would develop in the first years in the new building.

Expanding the reach...
In 1997 CCBC sent out the first of many short terms missions teams and would continue in partnership with missionaries in various countries to send and support missions locally and overseas. You can learn more about Missions at CCBC by clicking the connect tab in the menu above!
In the early 2000s CCBC launched the Life groups that remain an essential part of our CCBC community today. The building and congregation continued to grow and reach out to the surrounding community.

Where are we now...
CCBC is continuing to gather together for worship and truth in community! In January of 2024 Pastor P.J. Tangedahl accepted the call to become our lead pastor. P.J. has served CCBC for 17 years and we are so grateful for P.J. and our board of staff and lay elders as they continue to lead CCBC in biblical truth!
At the beginning of 2024 Pastor P.J. along with the elder board gave a state of the church address entitled "Where are we going & What are we doing?" You can click below to hear that sermon and learn more about where we are or come join us on a Sunday morning!
